菩薩 心如虛空 一切俱捨 過去心不可得 是過去捨 現在心不可得 是現在捨 未來心不可得 是未來捨 所謂三世俱捨 : Thus the mind of Bodhisattva is like the Void and everything is reliquished by it. When thoughts of the past cannot be taken hold of, this is relinquished of the past. When thoughts of the present cannot be taken hold of, this is relinquished of the present. When thoughts of the future cannot be taken hold of, this is relinquished of the future. This is called utter relinquishment of Triple Time. 

古人心利纔聞一言 便乃絕學。所以喚作絕學無為閒道人 : Some of the ancients had sharp mind; they no sooner heard the Doctrine proclaimed than they hastened to discard all learning. So they were called 'Sages who, abandoning learning, have come to rest in spontaneity.

但知息心即休。更不用思前慮後 : We just know how to put all mental activity to rest and thus achieve tranquility. We certainly do not begin by thinking things out and end up in perplexity.

[자습 노트] 첫 번째는 금강경에서 익숙한 문구라서 가져왔습니다. 두 번째는 매우 잘 알려진 '절학무위도인'이란 구절이며 바로 도덕경의 무위와 같은 취지입니다. 영문 번역자에 따르면 무위란 그저 행함이 없다는 게 아니라 매 순간이 요구하는바 저절로 튀어나오는 행동 이외에 계산된 행동을 하지 않는다는 뜻이라고 합니다. 즉 오랜 시간 에고(私)를 지워낸 결과 궁극의 실체, 또는 신 의식으로 채워지면 생각없이 튀어나오는 행동이 모두 하늘의 뜻에 맞게 된다는 속 뜻까지 읽어야 한다고 봅니다. 세 번째 구절은 황벽 선사의 종파에서 가르치는 것의 요체를 말한 것으로 '사전여후'는 복성서에 그 맥락이 그대로 이어지는바 복성서가 가르치는 요체도 불사불려(弗思弗慮)라는 것을 이 블로그에서 자주 거론했습니다.
